The Small, but Intelligent Avi

My name is Avi and I joined Bamboo Shoots. I joined Bamboo Shoots because I have lots of ideas and I think they’d be useful on the magazine. I like to play soccer and do numeracy. I am 9 years old. I am in 4th grade and am in Ms.Costa’s class. My talents are math and sports. I am proud to be in Bamboo Shoots because my writing can get published on the school magazine. I also enjoy writing things and thinking of ideas to put on Bamboo shoots. My favorite color is turquoise because it reminds me of the ocean and I like to go swimming in the ocean because the ocean is very calm and gentle. It also reminds me of the blue sky and the nice clouds in the sky. My favorite athlete is C.Ronaldo. I like his cool tricks and how he can curve the ball. I also like reading mythology books by Rick Riordan. His style of writing is really cool. I was born in Boston even though my parents are from Nepal. When moving from Boston to here I did not want to leave Boston because I would leave all my good friends. The weather is also different because there is 4 seasons in Boston, while Philippines has only two types of weather, sunny and rainy.

Hey! Do you know the website Khan Academy? I highly recommend it because while you work on the problems, you could even watch a video! The video has a man that explains the problems if you are stuck on a type of problem. If you do lots of problems you will start earning badges. There are varieties of badges including: meteorite badge, moon badge, earth badge, sun badge, (huhhh… I’m out of breath), challenge problem badge (earn them by doing challenge problems) and last of all, the black hole badge. I have another website that is quite cool, it is called “grammar ninja”! The grammar ninja is a game where at every level there is a sentence that consists the verb, noun, article etc. etc. If you find whatever is asked to find, you have to click on the word you think is the answer. If you get it right, a green circle appears on the word. If you get it wrong… the word explodes (scroll up to see the picture)!!!!

Wonderful Wafia!!!

Hi I’m Wafia. I am in grade 4.My birthday is on September 6,2002. My teacher is Ms. Cooney. I turned 9 last year and out of which I have spent 4 years in ISM and a few months in Manila. I have 4 pets out of 1 is a family pet and 1 is my sisters pet. My hobbies are dancing, sleeping, and watching T.V, but I do my homework first thing after I come home from my school or my after school activities. My favorite subject would be math because it came really help you when you grow-up or when you are a grown up. My favorite special would be P.E because we play a lot of fun games and we get a lot of fun sports like tennis or volley ball and we get a lot of exercise. My talents are singing, dancing, cooking, and eating. This is my first year in Bamboo Shoots so I’m writing this interview. The reason I joined Bamboo Shoots is because my friends were in it last year and they said that they really enjoyed it, so I thought it would be fun to join Bamboo Shoots because I have never wrote an article in a magazine or newspaper before. The after school activities I’ve been in are nothing like Bamboo Shoots and the after school activities I have been in usually, have a recital in a few months. Bamboo Shoots I think is a unique after school activity because it is nothing like the other after school activities. The others never let you write a blog or even make an article about the school and school events. The other ones usually have recitals or they are just for fun, but Bamboo Shoots is serious after school activity because it involves writing it the Elementary School magazine(Bamboo Shoots is the name of the magazine), which I’m really interested to do.

I AM WONDERFUL!!! (In case you didn’t notice but I’m sure you knew).
